We lived in West Auburn and someone saw a mouse in the living room.
Guess where Sandy escaped this creature?? She was on top of the piano!!
Tuna salad sandwiches - I can never make one that was as good as Aunt Fran's.
Aunt Fran and Uncle John lived with us for a short time after we moved to
Savona, so I had to be in 7th grade or higher.
It was Christmas eve and we could watch down the floor vent and see what was going on.
Naturally, the one that was the "trouble maker" was me; I saw a HUGE pair of painties and just
started giggling!! (Not sure who they were being wrapped for). Hear the stairdoor open, so knew
someone was on the way up! Dad said "Okay, who is the one that is laughing and not in bed.
We three girls shared a room, so Sandy and Sharon faked sleep, and I admitted it was me and ARE THEY FOR ME?
Dad replied "It doesn't matter who they are for, you are getting the belt for not being in bed.
I didn't look down the floor register again (and forgot who the panties belonged to, but not me.)
One other thing I remember about we four oldest Bruglers - We had a pig and knew that eventualy it was
to be meat for the table. We were in a Sunday School class, heard the screaming, and all got up and ran home!
Too late to save Miss Piggy.
I remember the attic of the house we lived in that belonged to Anna Parker - wonder whatever happened to
the beautiful harp and music box ?
I refused to go to first grade and waited for Sandy to start first grade for protection !
We all had nicknames - I was Tal, Sandy was Tant, Sharon was Brugie, Jerry was Tiggie. At the Silvara house, we used to sit
on the steps and play train - one would be engineer, another brakeman. Sammy fell down those steps one time and I wasn't able
to catch him...I felt guilty about that for years.
Remember the Place sisters talking Pig Latin - they were so fast !
